Hi All...
Sorry Star Wars fans, but I am taking a short break from Star Wars to put together my entries for a science calander contest a friend told me about.... I am waisting no time on these entries.
This is the Mars Colony in the year 2066.... 60 years from now.... it may be wishfull thinking, givin the state of the world and it's economy. I also believe that techno advances could push us there in that short a time period, given over population of Earth, and the struggle for resources.
This image and models were produced with 3D Studio Max 7, Lightwave 7, Carrara 5 Pro, and Photo Impact 6. Final renders were done in Carrara 5 Pro. The Atmosphere Processor was designed after the AP from the movie "Aliens"... The all terain vehicle was designed after the atv in the movie "Bat Man Begins"... The City blocks are Dystopia, blocks 41 through 45... We design our techno after the ideas we come up with in our sci-fi entertainment. Remember this the next time you talk on your cell phone, or pop a dvd into the recorder... and then watch an old Star Trek rerun
Great image. I think you are right to think that economic advantage will be what finally pushes us off Earth. We often forget that "The Great Age of Exploration" was funded largely by those seeking profit.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
